Tilak Ceremony on 05-05-2023 (Friday)

The Tilak ceremony is considered to be the groom's counterpart to the mehndi ceremony. In this ceremony  the groom-to-be Kaustuva Mishra will be offered tilak, a holy paste onto the forehead by the bride's brother  and the families exchange gifts, & sweets as a part of ritual. The exchanging of gifts and the application of tilak at this ceremony are meant to symbolize the bride's family's acceptance of the groom into his family.

Matkor-Puja on 07-05-2023 (Sunday)

Matkor is the rite of digging clay. This clay is symbolically used to make the Vedi (Bedi) or puja (prayer) place in which the kund or ritual basin  is   placed   and   in  which   nuptial  fire   is   lit   and   around   which   the marriage vow is made. In Sanskrit, it is known as mridaharana and in Bhojpuri as matkor. The word matkor is a compound of two words: (i) matti meaning earth or clay and (ii) kor meaning digging. 

Haldi at "To be Bride's House"

­ There is an undeniable sanctity attached to the Haldi ceremony. The Haldi ceremony is the application of turmeric paste on the bride and the groom at their respective homes. The word 'Haldi' is turmeric, ‘Hardi’ in Bhojpuri & Halad in Sanskrit. In this ceremony, the turmeric paste is applied on body. The custom is mentioned in ancient marriage manuals and is known as ‘Haridra Lepana’ (applying or smearing with turmeric).

Vidaai on 10-05-2023

The Vidaai ceremony symbolises the final stage of a wedding, where the bride's parents bid farewell to their daughter with their son-in-law. The special significance of the ceremony lies in the fact that it is marked by mixed emotions of joy and sorrow.In Hindu tradition,girls are considered the manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi,the deity of wealth and prosperity.Thus,while leaving,the bride practices the ritual to keep wealth and prosperirty intact in her home.The most emotional moment of the complete marriage ceremony as the bride's family and friends bid her a teary farewell.

Svaagat Samaaroh (Reception) on 13-05-2023

Post marriage, a reception party is given to celebrate and give best wishes to newly-wed couple so that they enjoy everlasting bond of marriage!
